Sunrise host Natalie Barr has been trying to capture the perfect Rottnest Island quokka selfie, but it got s**tty really fast.
The Australian journalist shared a hilarious video on TikTok from Sunrise, showing their 144,000 followers how to take a photo with the friendly little animals – an essential part of any tourist’s to-do list.
“What I’m trying to do is take a quokka selfie, and this is how you do it,” Barr explained.
“You lie down and there’s the quokka and here I am. We just have to wait a little longer.
“I’m in the quokka environment, I feel like David Attenborough of the quokkas.
“I’m literally in the quokka poop, like look at the poop.”
Barr turned the camera down and showed the large amounts of poop she was sitting among.
As she got closer, she realized that the quokkas were not well placed for a nice selfie, but that they were showing their “backsides”.
She eventually managed to get the faces of two quokkas into the camera for a somewhat decent selfie, but not without escaping more poop.
“Look, so they shit on me… like everywhere else, but I got the selfie, so it was worth it.”
Natalie Barr joins a long list of Aussie celebrities who have proudly posed with the furry creatures.
Soccer superstar Sam Kerr posted an image to her Instagram in December last year, which has more than a million followers.
While prankster Hamish Blake also posted a quokka selfie in December 2021.
Liam Hemsworth, Rafel Nadal and Roger Federer are also among the elite group of people who are lucky enough to take a selfie.
