BLACKPINK’s Lisa Achieves 3 New Guinness World Records Titles


Lisa from BLACKPINK has officially broken three Guinness World Records!

On January 24, Guinness World Records confirmed that BLACKPINK’s Lisa had achieved three additional record titles as a solo artist.

When Lisa made her solo debut with “LALISA” in September 2021, she officially broke the record for most YouTube music video views by a solo artist in 24 hours after an impressive 73.6 million views. Her new Guinness World Records titles include the first solo K-pop winner at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) for Best K-pop Video and the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs ) 2022 for Best K-pop. Pop.

Additionally, at the 2022 EMAs, BLACKPINK won Best Metaverse Performance with “Ready for Love”, earning a Guinness World Records group title as the category’s first winners.

Lisa’s third new title is for the most Instagram followers for a K-pop artist. As of January 19, 2023, Lisa had 86.3 million followers and the number has risen to 87 million on January 26 KST, making her Instagram account the 38th most followed on the platform.

As of January 2023, BLACKPINK holds three Guinness World Records titles as a group, including most subscribers by a band on YouTube, the first K-pop group to reach No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart (Female), and the first K-pop group to reach No. 1 to reach the US Albums Chart (Female).

Earlier this week, Lisa earned a solo Premio Lo Nuestro nomination for “SG,” her collaboration with DJ Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ozuna. In early January, BLACKPINK became the first female K-pop act to receive a BRITs nomination with a nod to Best International Group. This summer, BLACKPINK will become the first-ever K-pop artist to headline the famed American music festival Coachella.
